When you are using paid ezine advertising or running adwords campaigns to promote affiliate programs, you need an edge that will generate clicks and purchases. You’re trying to get noticed over all of the other marketers that are trying to sell the same product.

If your approach is the same as everyone else, how do you convince prospects to buy from your affiliate link?

An idea that has been gaining popularity is to offer a bonus from you that is only available if they buy from your link. If you’re on any marketing lists, you’ve seen first hand the use of this technique. A recent product launch resulted in my receiving 8 emails from the lists that I am subscribed to that were offering a bonus if I purchased from their link.

Make sure the bonus you offer is relevant and complimentary to the product you are promoting. Your bonus should be something of real value, that isn’t available for free all over the internet. You could write a report or offer a tutorial that shows how to use the product. Or you can offer a product that you have resale rights to.

A great way to learn how to do this is to subscribe to several ezines in your area of interest. Study the emails and you will see what the successful marketers are doing.
